A Hero’s Send-off – Solarbron Pointe Residents Go On Honor Flight

Solarbron Pointe recently hosted a send-off party for its two veterans going on the Honor Flight.  Frank Turbor and Howard Loge were celebrated with patriotic music, cake, punch and a large turnout of Pointe residents and staff.  Joining in the festivities were their family members and guardians for the trip.  Both Frank and Howard shared memories of their military experiences.  Frank’s days in the Marines were spent aboard a submarine.  Howard’s time in the army included a severe foot injury that lead to him receiving a Purple Heart.  Both veterans shared details that even their family members had never heard.  The celebration ended with a roaring round of applause, a standing ovation and well-wishes for their trip to Washington DC the following day.
